About Me

I am a Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, working at the intersection of machine learning and environmental science. My research focuses on developing AI methods for weather prediction, with a particular emphasis on high-resolution forecasting and physically meaningful modelling. Much of my work explores how to move beyond standard approaches, designing models that are both mathematically grounded and practically useful in operational settings.

My work is strongly shaped by a commitment to open, reproducible, and collaborative science. I develop open-source tools and work closely with partners across academia and industry. I am also involved in teaching and curriculum development, with a focus on equipping students with both the technical and critical skills needed to work responsibly with data and machine learning systems.
